Galvanized Iron Pipes (GI Pipes) are MS Steel Pipes coated with a layer of Zinc to protect it from corrosion. The process involves immersing the steel pipe in a bath of molten zinc, which forms a protective coating on the surface of the pipe. That’s why they are often called Hot Dip GI pipes. In the hot-dip galvanizing process, steel is heated to approximately 830 F (443 C) for the galvanizing reaction to happen.
